Pour the milk into the blender, then add the pumpkin, banana, oats, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla and ice.
Blend on high until smooth and thick, about 1 minute, scraping down once if needed.
Taste, add a little more maple syrup if you like it sweeter, then pour into a glass and dust with a pinch of extra spice.
Tips
- Freeze leftover canned pumpkin in ½-cup portions so a smoothie is always five minutes away.
- No pumpkin pie spice? Use ¼ teaspoon cinnamon plus a pinch each of ginger and nutmeg.
- Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to make it an after-workout breakfast; use gluten-free oats if you need it gluten-free.
