The recipe in 15 seconds

Method

  1. Pat the chicken dry. Toss with the cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika and salt until no dry powder is left, then drizzle with the oil and toss again.

  2. Air fry at 400°F in a single layer with space between the pieces, 12 to 14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway. They are done when golden and crisp at the edges and 165°F inside.

  3. While they cook, stir the honey, hot sauce and pepper flakes in a large bowl and microwave for 15 seconds to loosen.

  4. Add the hot chicken to the bowl and toss to coat. Scatter with scallion and serve right away.

Tips

  • Air fryers vary: oven-style models and smaller baskets may need 2 to 3 minutes more. Check early the first time.
  • Toss the chicken in the honey just before serving; it softens the crust if it sits.
  • Serve over rice with steamed broccoli for dinner, or with toothpicks and ranch for game day. Check your hot sauce label if you need it gluten-free.
