Method

  1. Warm the cream cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring, until smooth.

  2. Stir in the garlic, Old Bay, Worcestershire, lemon juice and cheddar until the cheese melts.

  3. Gently fold in the crab, keeping the lumps whole, and warm through.

  4. Spoon into a serving bowl, sprinkle with a pinch of Old Bay and the scallion, and serve with crackers or baguette.

Tips

  • Fold the crab in at the end and stir gently so you keep big, meaty pieces.
  • For a golden top, spoon it into a small baking dish, cover with more cheddar and broil for 2 minutes.
