Method
Heat the oven to 400°F. While it heats, keep the rolls joined together and slice the whole slab in half horizontally with a long serrated knife.
Set the bottom half in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer on the ham in an even layer, then the Swiss cheese, then put the top half back on.
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then stir in the mustard, Worcestershire, poppy seeds and dried onion. Brush or spoon it all over the tops of the rolls.
Cover the dish loosely with foil and bake until the ham is hot and the cheese is melting.
Uncover and bake until the tops are glossy and golden and the cheese is fully melted at the edges.
Cut along the lines between the rolls into 12 sliders and serve hot.
Tips
- In a hurry? Skip the foil and run the uncovered dish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes after 5 minutes of baking, watching closely so the sweet tops don't burn.
- Leftover turkey works too: swap the ham for turkey and add a spoonful of cranberry sauce to each slider.
- Use thinly sliced ham so it heats through in time; thick slabs stay cold in the middle.
