Method

  1. Halve and seed the jalapeños, scraping out the white ribs with a teaspoon.

  2. Mix the cream cheese, cheddar, bacon and garlic powder until smooth, then fill each jalapeño half level with the top.

  3. Toss the panko with the melted butter and press a little onto each popper.

  4. Air fry at 375°F in a single layer until the peppers are tender and the tops are golden.

  5. Let cool for a couple of minutes before eating; the filling is very hot.

Tips

  • Wear gloves or wash your hands well after seeding the jalapeños, and keep away from your eyes.
  • Leave a few ribs in if you like them hot; scraping them all out keeps them mild.
  • No air fryer? Bake at 400°F for about 12 minutes.
