Seared steak, grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp and eggs make up most of this list, served with vegetables instead of rice, pasta or bread. Many other recipes on the site become low-carb with a simple swap: lettuce cups instead of tortillas, cauliflower rice instead of rice, or zucchini noodles instead of pasta.
Nutrition numbers are estimates per serving, worked out from each recipe's ingredients using USDA food data. They leave out salt to taste and anything listed only to serve, and they will vary with the brands you buy.
Common questions
What counts as low carb?
Definitions vary. We list meals with 15 grams of net carbs or less per serving, which suits most low-carb eating plans. Strict keto plans usually aim lower, around 20 to 30 grams of net carbs for the whole day.
What are net carbs?
Net carbs are total carbohydrates minus fiber. Fiber isn't digested like other carbs, so many low-carb plans count net carbs instead of total carbs.
Are these recipes keto?
Many are keto-friendly, but we haven't checked every ingredient against keto rules, such as added sugar in sauces. If you follow a strict keto plan, check the nutrition panel and the labels of store-bought sauces.
